Chlorine Gas Monitoring System
CL2 Gas Detection with SenSmart Chlorine Detectors
RC Systems manufactures fixed gas detection and alarm control systems to provide the solutions you need. Our SenSmart line of chlorine gas detectors and sensors provide the prevention technology you need at a cost-effective price. We also offer calibration gases, kits, and accessories for testing your chlorine detectors, as well as spare chlorine sensors for replacing sensors that are worn down.Chlorine Gas Detection Options
RC Systems offers a variety of chlorine gas detection solutions, including:Chlorine Gas Detectors
These CL2 gas detectors are available in toxic dual sensor gas detectors and toxic single point gas detection, depending on your application needs. Both types help detect the presence of gases in a specified area, and transmit alarm signals when they reach dangerous levels.Chlorine Spare Sensor
These are additional chlorine gas sensors that are used as replacement sensors for SenSmart gas detectors. We offer these in several sensor types and ranges.Chlorine Calibration Gases, Kits, and Accessories
All the tools, supplies, and accessories you need to calibrate your chlorine gas detectors and sensors.Chlorine Gas Exposure Symptoms
Chlorine exposure can give the body immediate symptoms within seconds after exposure to the gas. The result of exposure can lead to long term health issues. Chlorine gas can resemble acid when sensitive parts of the body are exposed to it. Symptoms ranging from blisters on the skin to burning pain in the nose, throat, and eyes are instantly present.A person may also experience difficulty breathing and fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema). These types of exposures can create severe health problems. There is no treatment currently available for chlorine exposure. The only treatment options are removing the chlorine from the body quickly and additional supportive medical care such as breathing treatments.
Preventing Chlorine Gas Exposure
Chlorine (Cl2) is found in many industrial processes, including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and electronics industries. If workers are exposed to chlorine gas, they can experience coughing and vomiting at 30 parts per million (ppm), lung damage at 60 ppm, and the gas can be quickly fatal at 1000 ppm.Chlorine gas can be detected at concentrations as low as 0.2 ppm, making CL2 gas monitoring an important safety precaution. Proper chlorine gas detection is essential in areas where workers are most likely to be exposed to CL2 gas. This includes places like storage and manufacturing areas.
